What are you up to these days?
Professionally, I am working as a Civic Data Analyst II at Alta Planning + Design. In my personal life, I just moved to New York City and I’m trying to learn my way around by foot + subway, watching copious amounts of movies, learning to DJ, and reading speculative fiction. You can also check out my GitHub to see what I’ve been building. Probably listening to electro-pop.
What is your stance on generative AI?
I have explored these services in the past and am well informed on various gen-AI terminology. At their best, they offer a more frictionless experience when trying to troubleshoot or build. Philosophically, I don’t subscribe to a life of frictionless experiences or chasing optimization/productivity.
I think struggling is a part of the learning and development process, and this philosophy is the most troubling element of its use. I also think the political, economic, and privacy ramifications of its use are enough to cease its adoption.
